About Bayco Design

Founded by seasoned architect John Darouian, Bayco Design brings over 40 years of architectural excellence to every project. With both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Arizona and the University of Oregon, John has built a career rooted in creativity, technical mastery, and personalized service.

Throughout his journey, John has contributed to a broad spectrum of residential and light commercial projects across Portland, Tucson, and the San Francisco East Bay. His roles have ranged from designer to project and construction manager, allowing him to develop a well-rounded and highly practical understanding of the built environment.

Before founding Bayco Design in 1991, John spent six years leading the acclaimed Graphic and Presentation Department at Architectural Progress LTD, establishing a reputation for design clarity and visual communication. He also dedicated over eight years to teaching Architectural Graphics and Presentation Drawing at the university level and served as an Autodesk-certified AutoCAD trainer, mentoring students and professionals alike in the Bay Area and at Portland Community College.
